The "Felted Stained Glass Fan Bag" is beautiful and unique! The bags shown were made using Noro "Kureyon" which is a variegated yarn with beautiful colors variations. The bag can be made with any wool that felts. The bottom of the bag looks like a stained glass window!
It is hard to put down my knitting when I'm making one of these bags because I enjoy seeing the color changes and each bag is different. The bag is pretty before it's felted and always surprises me when they come out of the washer because the bags are even prettier than when they went in. The pattern contains instructions for 2 versions of the bag. Version 1 is taller and Version 2 is shorter. Version 1 is shown with a knit tube at the top which is optional. The bag is made from the top down in rounds. Each fan is made individually and joined as you knit. The diagrams used in the pattern are pictures. The bag looks more complicated than it is and once you get the "hang of it" you will not want to put your knitting down! No matter what brand of wool is used, each bag will be unique.

I love your story and your bag looks amazingly beautiful! Congratulations on your new blog ;-)
One of my Sisters of the Wool found your blog and your stained glass bag pattern. Made me say oooh. Does the pattern buyer get both bag versions? What are the flowery circles in the bottom two pics? Is that part of the bag?
Yes, the pattern buyer would get both bag versions. The "flowery circles" are the bottom of the bags.
I'm another of Jeri's Sisters of the Wool, and I found you the same way she did. These bags are amazing! I'm bookmarking your site for when I've finished half a dozen other projects. And I'm looking forward to seeing what else you come up with!
This is lovely. Do you sell wholesale?
Your design is wonderful! You are truly talented.

I saw a link to you at the Spring Felted Bag Exchange. Your work is beautiful! Kristen
I sent you an e-mail requesting info about ordering your pattern. Just wondering if there was a glitch, since I recently changed ISP's. I really really want to make this bag!
I'm setting up a "paypal" account and I hope to have it in place today.
Thank you all for your patience.
Lori, I checked my e-mail and I don't see anything from you. Please, e-mail me again.
Thank you,
Madeline
OK I have paypeled, can I expect a link? Also I will be ordering the paper version as well.....tremedous...do you have other designs?
Sent you another e-mail. Hope this one makes it. Lemme' know, please if it does or doesn't.
And Cheryl, I think we should send "spooky swap vibes" to the Bag Exchange Hostesses...that way you and I would each get a Stained Glass Bag
Lori, I just checked my e-mails and there are none from you. My e-mail address is: knittingdream@hotmail.com

O.K. Take 3 Madeline. This one from my old account @ earthlink. *sigh* this technology, it sure makes things easier. Grrrr.

Ok Lori
I am wiggling my fingers and saying oooooooohhhhh with the exchange page up.....let's see if it works.
Your bag patterns are absolutely stunning! I'll be buying a pattern soon!
May I ask what th edimensions are of this bag? It is SO pretty!
Hi Prayerful knitter/Shelly,
The dimensions that I have for the bag are 11" to 13 1/2" tall, 14" across and a 9" round bottom.
I use a small popcorn can to shape the bag while it is wet. I also flatten the bottom of the bag to the bottom of the can.
You can felt the bag to a smaller size if you wish.
I saw your pattern on Ravelry and want to know how many skeins of Noro did you use for your bag?
Hi Barbara,
I will be happy to let you know the yarn yardage. Which pattern?
Madeline
Opps, I'm sorry Barbara I just noticed that you want the yarn information for the "Felted Stained Glass Fan Bag".
Version 1: 6 skeins Noro "Kureyon" of different color numbers.
2 skeins black Lamb's Pride Worsted.
Version 2: 5 skeins Noro "Kureyon" all the same color number.
1 skein black Lamb's Pride Worsted. I had 2 yards of a skein left when I was finished, so I would buy 2 skeins of black just in case you run out.
The bag can be made with any wool that felts.
I love this bag! It is really beautiful. I've been using Noro Kureyon to make tapestry crochet bags lately, and just as you say, I love watching the colors change. I'm looking forward to getting a pair of circular needles and trying this bag. Thanks so much for posting it.
